About the Course Instructor
Diana Finch
Diana Finch is an national-level literacy expert. Early on, haven faced her own, personal struggle with dyslexia and ADD as a child, she graduated from the University of California at Davis and became a teacher and school administrator, earning multiple certifications, credentials and degrees along the way. After years of outstanding innovation as a Classroom Teacher, Reading Specialist, Teacher Trainer, Curriculum and Instruction Director, School Principal and County Literacy Consortium Director in California schools, she was appointed to a Federal SAIT Team for school reform by President George W. Bush, responsible for mentoring school district leadership throughout a region of California.
Realizing the limitations of working with a large system, she opened her own private practice in Florida in 2016. For her private clients, she created her own unique program based upon her decades of education and experience. The curriculum, methods and techniques included the best of Orton Gillingham (phonics intervention), Reading Recovery (whole-language intervention), multi sensory techniques based upon brain research and best practices in instruction based upon the National Reading Panel report of 2000 commissioned by Barbara Bush (a survey of research in best practices spanning three decades).
With eight years of successful private practice behind her, she has realized that it is time to share this calling with other professionals. Children and families throughout the US and, indeed, the world are seeking help that just is not available… until now. The graduates of The Reading Specialist Certification Program by Reading Rescue will finally achieve her life-long dream… that children everywhere will have the instruction and support that they need.
